Strata Cafe, the place where most Strata users exchange techniques, ideas, and help eachother with their Strata projects, has periodic challenge competitions among the extensive community of member Strata users. This was my first entry into any sort of 3D competition ever, and I was very surprised and deeply honored to have placed 1st by the judges among the 20 or so other entries.
48 hour radiosity rendering using image illumination and one additional spotlight. Finished the rendering exactly 2 hours before the deadline.

My dear friend Howie - finally - others recognize your amazing 3D skills that I have witnessed in most all your beautiful renders. This one is truly a winner, and let me congratulate you publicly because you among many I've seen who work in 3D - are truly deserving of this 1st place award. The true metallic look of the humanoid statues is simply exquisite and almost reminds me of the liquid metal of the nasty in Terminator 2. The wood flooring has that just waxed appearance and the window reflections are just bang on. A most excellent piece of work my friend - top of the line as usual, but now the deserved recognition. Bravo Howie!
