The background—and *only* the background—was created as the base image using AI and then further modified in Photoshop. The rest of the image was created in DAZ Studio, with Photoshop used for the final touches.

A Note About the Creation of This Image
I normally create my images without AI, using DAZ Studio and Photoshop. This image is a little different, and I wanted to be transparent about how it was made.
For this scene, I had a very specific idea for the background: a vast battlefield dividing the forces of Heaven and Hell, with a bright, almost heavenly side and a dark, fiery side. I looked for an HDRI or another suitable background that could give me the exact atmosphere and perspective I needed, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything that really fit.
So, as a starting point, I turned to AI to create the kind of background I was looking for. The AI-generated image was only the starting point, though. I subsequently modified it extensively in Photoshop and integrated it into the scene.
The angels and demons were created and individually posed in DAZ Studio. I also worked out the lighting for the characters in DAZ Studio to match the background. After rendering, I used Photoshop extensively for compositing, lighting adjustments and additional postwork to bring everything together.
So this is a partially AI-assisted mixed-media artwork, rather than a purely AI-generated image.
Since I normally work without AI, I wanted to be open about its use in this particular image. The AI was simply a tool to help me create a background that I couldn't find elsewhere; the scene itself was then built, composed and developed by me.

No need to apologize my friend as you are using AI in the best way an artist should use AI and that is as a tool in your repertoire of the many tools in your possession to make your creation come to life. Just as Photoshop was once not an acceptable tool to be used by artist, I hope AI will be seen in the same way as just a tool to help the artist complete his creation without any prejudgment by this community.
This image turned out great and just as Max commented above, I will gladly join both of you in the dark side as I have used AI assistance also. :)

Für den ersten AI-Versuch (auch wenn es ein Hybrid ist) mehr als gelungen (meiner damals sah weit weniger professionell aus!). Simme Doggy zu, ich musste auch unwillkürlich an Black Sabbath' Albumcover von Heaven and Hell denken, nicht die schlechteste Referenz! 👍
Dnke dir. Die KI hat aber auch nicht genau das ausgespuckt was ich im Kopf hatte. Musste es aus zwei Bildern zusammensetzen und es dann noch in PS anpassen bis es halbwegs so war wie ich wollte. Und vor allem der KI erst mal beibringen die soll hier KEINE figuren nutzen... ich glaug so richtig warm werd ich nicht mit der KI :)
Übung macht den Meister...so wie in jedem anderen Genre auch! Das nicht alles auf Anhieb klappt, das ist normal. Wie heißt es so schön? "Versuch macht kluch!" Oder "learning by doing", suchs dir aus.😁

lach Naja, als Werkzeug akzeptiere ich es, aber so ein bisschen will ich schon selbst am Bild arbeiten. Hier wie gesagt gab es einfach keinen HG der zu meiner Idee passte das wie in einem klassischen Gemälde wirken zu lassen. Ih mag es am Bild zu schrauben und es selbst zu gestalten. Das ist für mich der Spaß, auch wenn es VIEL länger dauert als die KI braucht. Ich hab an dem hier zwei Tage allein am HG gefummelt und noch mal fast drei für den Rest. Die KI spuckt dir in der Zeit ohl eine Tonne diverser Variationen aus. So mag ich das auch nicht haben.
