Faszinierender Render, allein der Nebel, der die Stimmung bringt.
Es ist tatsaechlich nur eine Muenze fuer die Ueberfahrt, sie wurde entweder unter die Zunge oder auf's Auge des Toten gelegt. Wer keine Muenze dabei hatte, mußte 100 Jahre als Schattenam Ufer bleiben.

As NenaLuise pointed out, the cost used to be a coin for the crossing. But the US-centric trade chaos that currently besets us has forced the price up to a coin on both eyes. :-)

Lately your images keep reminding me of the end to come, by seeing these hooded gentlemen that always come calling for us when we least expect them! You are off to a great head start prior to the Halloween spooky scenes that will surely come in October. :)

you're really doing beautiful work with this orange-ish mysterious hue...and fog and mist...you definitely get the otherworldly feeling here. The boat carrying the new recruit (I assume) is well lit, it has a hopeful look next to all the shadow. And the light on the waiting figure (death, I assume---if he's 'life', he's got a major image problem) is very effective. The castle in the background is eerie and mysterious as well...really well done.
Thanks, Mark. Yes, the figure on the jetty is waiting to cross over into the realm of shadows. The only question is whether he stays there or if it’s just routine for him—since he keeps crossing back and forth to deliver souls.
