Wieder mal coole Serie
Your arrival series looks very cinematic and so well done, yet I am not up to speed as to what the symbols mean on his robes. What exactly does that symbols stand for my Courtray? :)
Hi John! The symbol in the first image and several others is—or was—the emblem of the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult: that stylized, inverted cross. All the other symbols were created by the specific engines I used! The two "Arrival" series are intended to symbolize the arrival of souls in Heaven (or Elysium) and Hell, respectively. As you know, an inverted cross symbolizes the Devil—or evil incarnate—whereas the ankh I used in the first "Arrival" series stands for eternal life! The two older men represent the rulers of their respective realms; to put it very simply, you could call them God and the Devil. However, I wanted to avoid overt, stereotypical Christian imagery, since Christianity is just one of many religions that believe in an afterlife. So, I chose symbols that clearly hint at the nature of each place without tying them to any specific religious doctrine!
