1) The sun as "Lava Lamp"
It's real. I have no idea why that happens. It's a natural distortion...
2) 3) 4) Waves.
Yeah, they're big. And they all hit me.
(The fourth wave hit so hard, I was knocked to the ground.
When I stood up, several photographers gave me a standing ovation. All true.
When I saw that my camera was dry, they gave me a second standing ovation.)
(We photographers care more about our cameras than about ourselves...)

I see you’re a master at catching the exact right moment. Hats off to you. I once nearly went crazy trying to get a shot of a seagull in flight—specifically a close-up from directly underneath. I tried for almost two years before I finally got something decent. So, I know just how hard it is to hit the shutter at the perfect moment :D

The waves, the first in yellow-gold, it's beautiful, the second, so tremendous, such a power, just wow and the third, I like the angle so we can see how it's building up. All are fascinating!

I can't believe my eyes by looking of those spectacular photo's. It's stunning, what a force of nature that seems to come over you, this is extraordinary and unimaginable, Mark. How good that you still have these recordings, and it's as if I can still hear those standing ovations here amid the roar of this natural disaster. btw. The first photo appears to show a couple in love, the photo, at least for me, was probably taken on Valentine's Day. ;-) Thank you so much for sharing, my friend!

Obviously you weren't the only one to wait for the sun doing its show on the first one. For the others, they are great photos, but you were lucky not to follow them once they hit you. Water is so strong.
