Hi and thank-you very much for looking, a new story will continue using the beautiful V4 (Victoria 4) & M4 (Michael)... downunder picture 1; First day of work ... Monday my first day of work in Australia during pruning season, but I am not pruning I am building fruit bins, 200 fruit bins that one of my bosses need, it is very cold early in morning so I am wearing a big jacket that was in the building. Sunday it was rain day and rain day are only days orchard workers get the day off, My boss rang the pruners thinking it was going to be raining Monday as well, That means Darren was able to come and show me how to build a fruit bin on his day off, After one hour we had completed one bin and I knew what to do, Darren left me and on my own I continued building fruit bins and driving the forklift truck. ps it did not rain on Monday and my boss did not ring or message his pruners he knows they will not work that day. picture 2; End of first day ... Darren returned at the end of the day to take me home and can you see how many bins I made? ... 10, My boss is happy with that and wants me to try and build 10 bins everyday, 70 bins by Sunday. picture 3; End of week 1 the race ... Friday night and can you see I have made 72 bins, you might only see 60 the stack at the end is hiding, why does it look like we are running? ... Darren said to me "I left the key in my car and first to the car can drive into town to get DVD movies to watch and loser must shout a meal at his favorite international restaurant that I do not need to get out of the car for" haha he has no chance of beating me in a foot race to his car. picture 4; Movie night at Mooroopna Movies ... This is Darren's car that he built for me to use in my Australian story, his car is a Holden VX commodore 2002 and we searched high and low on the internet to find one, this is as close as can be, it was a race-car version that Darren tried his best to make look like a normal street car, I got to see some of his work in Carrara and learnt a few new things, quick example was rear bumper had a big hole on one side for tow hook, Darren cut the bumper in half and duplicated the good half and delete to bad half, he then flipped it and positioned it close to the good half and welded it together, the mesh wrinkled a bit and it looked horrid in normal view, so in edit mode he drew a square around the bad area and under model tab triangulated the area and it went smooth without any more needed, in normal view it looks perfect. the front bumper started the same, cut, duplicate, flip, re-position but this time he just pushed the two halves together and in normal view it is a invisible join, very quick and easy. The DVD store is amazing ... amazing that it still exists that is, it is on a quiet side street and in 45 minutes we looked at DVD's no-one else visited the store on a Friday night, Darren buys DVD's not rents, now it is time for him to buy me a meal at his favorite international restaurant, "just do a U-turn here and then left and left again and another left when I say" he told me ... Yes he is taking me to Mc Donalds restaurant drive through. picture 5; Movie night at Mooroopna Movies-2 ... this is me still holding the car key leaving the DVD store ... this is me still holding the car key leaving the DVD store haha, Darren did not ask for the key and went straight to the passenger seat, I think he knows I love driving his car, it has a V6, 4 speed automatic, 4 wheel disc brakes and only 126,000 kilometers on the clock, it is awesome to drive. picture 6; All done ... Friday night my boss contacted me and told me if I stencil the name on the bins Saturday I can rest on Sunday and the truck will pick them up, so stack them 3 bins high, no "good job Maggie" or "you did more than expected" comment ... "just make sure you are at work Monday", last bin now I can go home happy. picture 7; DVD night ... Friday night is DVD night at Darren's home, He chose "The Book of ELI" and I chose "Charlie & Boots" that has Mr Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) in it. picture 8; DVD night-morning ... Darren made me re-pose with the DVD's in the morning light before he would take me to work, better lighting he said you will look better, oh and try to smile haha. picture 9, 10 & 11; Maggie's cabin in orchard ... I am staying alone in my cabin at the orchard and my boss is now letting me drive the farm ute to work, in picking season I would have company but now only pruners are working and they live off orchard in houses, the pickers have returned home, got jobs else where in Australia and the really lucky ones are working in the snow fields, I love the snow and would like to be there now. my drive to work in the morning is a long one ... not really, the orchard was 200 acres and was split in 2 100 acre orchards and after 5 years of neglect my boss bought 100 acres, so the building where I am building fruit bins is just next door on another orchard, it is a big building with cool rooms, maybe 1.5 kilometers or a bit more travel needed. Darren told me not to drive the farm ute outside the orchards, our boss gets cars from his used car buddy and does not register or insure them, if I get caught outside it is a $800 dollar fine for me the driver no matter who owns the car if it is un-registered. picture 9 my cabin as is with bad outdoor lighting, picture 10 Darren added extra lighting and picture 11 early morning, all work by Darren to surprise me. Darren has been super busy making or modifying props of the orchard for me to use in my Australian story, I told my boss about how I am doing my time in Australia this time as a story in 3d to share and could I include photos of the orchard? ... he said "no" and walked away ... #awkward ... ok that is a no. #partypooper #blushing For the next few weeks I will continue with my other story as I get settled here and then I can concentrate on my time in Australia and share more with you, Darren will lend me his second computer to use I just need to get a monitor as soon as I can. my boss will not turn on the internet for just me to use my laptop (he considers it his work laptop and he does not need me to use it). So much more to share next time, I wanted to upload Monday night but I did not get to Darren's house until 8 pm and it would be late by the time I up-loaded, Tuesday night 7:30 pm to 9 pm to write description (Darren needs a quicker computer). I wrote this on "Notepad" app and it helps me with spelling, it under-lines error and then gives me correct spelling without internet search, saved me half a hour I imagine. stay safe. signing off at 9:45 pm.
