Jupp, ist noch die Frage ob er Glück hatte oder ob das nicht auf dem anderen Weg schneller und schmerzloser gelaufen wäre.

Terrific foreground texture work, and very convincing smoke effect. Are those spheres using volumetric cloud material? Great work!

I'm currently working on an image with a major conflagration requiring billowing smoke. My PC slows to a crawl having the volumetric clouds in the actual image render. I've had to create a separate file with the same camera position with simple black background, illuminate the clouds to mimic the actual main image lighting, render the clouds, and then clone-brush them into the main image. Pretty crazy what I do for the love of Bryce!

Thanks. Yeah, I know the problem. I originally created the smoke using smoke spheres and 2D planes, but it didn't look very good, so it took a lot of Photoshop work to get it looking halfway decent.

a very stark image. We get the feeling that the survivor feels he/she let the others down. To find the others lying on the ground, "strewn" like debris, is quite powerful. And yeah, the cacti are large: They add a feeling a desolation to the image, as it's in a desolate, parched desert. (You use desert-landscapes powerfully in your work.) Powerful stuff. And one wonders whether the survivor will get out of this wildnerness alive...

I guess this is what helicopter pilots refer to as a hard landing, but then again as the saying goes among the pilot community...any landing in which you can walk away is always considered a good landing. :)

lol True. It wasn't a crash landing, either—more of a vigorous landing with unscheduled ground contact :D
