Description
Hello, All. Time for a little catching up. I’ll keep this as focused / short as possible.
A few years ago, I started noticing a little oddity.. It seemed that if I was going to have a really good year, it would be an odd-numbered year ( I.E. 2025), and if it was going to be a really bad year, it would be an even-numbered year – such as 2026. This year has – to put it bluntly – sucked.
I’ve mentioned before that in January, we got sucked into a scam that cost us about $25,000.00. While dealing with that, Jo fell and broke her right ankle in 3 places.
As things stand now, she is doing a lot better and is able to walk using only her cane. She continues to make progress.
As for me….
Now, it’s my turn to deal with health issues.
I spent most of Sunday, August 2nd in the E.R. at Centerpoint Hospital. I was having rather severe episodes of what I’d call being “zoned out.” If you’ve ever had the feeling like you were walking around in a dream, or nothing around you seemed real, that was what I was experiencing. The medical term for this is “Depersonalization – Derealization Disorder.” And I had / have a severe case of it. “Anxiety due to stress” I was told. So….. What is stressing me out? I was asked.
My wife having to stumble around, crippled by some slimeball in India somewhere with 25K of our savings.
Paying off all the medical stuff not covered by Medicare.
Dealing with all the usual daily BS multiplied around 10 X.
My never-ending list of stuff I need to do to this house. And trying to find another one we can almost afford.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
And of course, over and above all of this is semi-stressfully wondering how long any of us have to live before a certain butt-muncher, idiot, wanna-be dictator and his moron buddies get World War 3 off and running. ‘Nuff said.
Of course, all this has kicked my creative motivations in the short & curlies, but I’m trying to focus on stuff I enjoy, and that relaxes me – hence this render. Anyway…. Suffice it to say I’ve had some issues and am slowly working my way through all of it.
I’m trying to pop in and comment here and there, and as I progress through this, I hope to eventually get back to where I was and hopefully get TNA rolling again. Wish me luck.
Thank you to all who have supported me through this difficult time. I appreciate you all!

i just hope the very best for you Rod and Jo. yes you have had a bad last two years, and pray things work out. mine were not super but made it through, however after my mom's declining health this year and of course her passing on the 8th of this month. very hard to deal with. stress and depression are at a high.a all time high for me. her funeral is really going to stress me. i think the 27th or 28th of this month. she will have full military service honors and i believe i being the eldest i will get her flag. which i will break down in tears when it gets handed to me.. love your image also. take care. hope only a few 100.00 visits.
Thanks, Steve! Knowing all you've been through, it's deeply appreciated. I can still remember how it felt when I lost my mom - and then my dad a few years later. He had the full military honors as well for his 20 years, service. I still have his flag where I can see it every day. My thoughts will be with you, my good friend, as always.
actually Rod, my sis is getting the burial flag, i get a bought one, my sis requested she would get it.
I'm so sorry to hear what's happening to you. Life is hard enough, but there are times when it's particularly cruel. It's as if it enjoys putting us through the toughest tests. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it, but we must try to resist with all our strength so as not to give in! You are certainly very tired, but your creativity has not been affected as this beautiful image demonstrates! I certainly wish you luck!!!
You could avoid a good deal of stress by avoiding the news about the idiots who have infested much of the world and not just your country. They are the worst part, the rejects of the people of the countries they govern. However, I don't believe they will be so stupid as to destroy the planet, if only because they also inhabit it. But they enjoy making us believe it and making us feel angry and stressed. And suppressed anger and stress further damage our health. (I had to throw away the TV and I no longer read the newspapers because my health deteriorated a lot every time I had to helplessly learn the idiocies glorified by complacent journalists)
I wish you all the best. Stay strong!
Thank you so much, my friend! I do try to stay away from the news as much as possible. I'm fighting depression now, and have been for a while. And watching / listening to the news doesn't help!
Beautiful artwork! You and Jo have been through a very trying time over the last while, and I sincerely hope that things get better for you both. Wishing all the best for you both!
Hey Rod, nice image ... both cool and spicy;-)
I wish I could snap my fingers and fix all things bad -- but I can't :-(
I'll just add that I've seen my mom die, then my dad, my 2 aunts, my 2 uncles, and several of my good friends ... but strangely what haunts me the most is my friend's lovely granddaughter getting killed by a drunk driver, and watching another wonderful teen girl getting her life slowly and painfully extinguished by chemotherapy.
But I see no sense getting dragged into darkness by things I can't control. Either life goes on ... or it doesn't.
Indeed it does, despite the fact it sucks at times. Looking to move forward... Thanks, my friend! 👍
Extraordinary image,excellent work👍🙋♂️
We all need a timeline cleanse, myself included. Diplomats, or should I say, diplocats are quite good for that.

Wonderful my friend
Beautiful and relaxing scene!
I'm so sorry for all you've been through. And being the really committed person you are (and you are), all this 'deluge' is felt that much more deeply. I"m really sorry for your zone-out (I'd never heard that term before, "Depersonalization – Derealization Disorder"---sounds like something from a sci fi film!), you must've felt like everything was suddenly disappearing,,,but, in my highly non-professional view, sometimes the mind, when it's been on 'overload' for a long time, just needs to restart---not 'sleep', but a complete restart: it erases the RAM, flushes out all the processes, and starts anew. I know it must feel terrible, but there's genuine rejuvenation there. And you so deeply deserve a rejuvenation, and I so deeply wish it for you. I hope that that restart ultimately brings you peace and renewal...even though it takes time. Hey...in meditation (I've done a lot of it, and I also was in therapy years back), finding a 'restart', a sudden clean moment is prized, believe it or not---they even call it "losing oneself" for a bit. Maybe your mind was taking you to that place, to find a rebuild, rebirth. I just hope you can rise from it, and I hope fate rises with you. Just know, I'm immensely grateful for your powers, your giving, your love, your humor (no small thing!), your devotion (witness you with Jo), and your true and genuine talent (no small thing as well!). May it all come back to you now; may you be fed.
And your image is awash in a mid-to-late-day play of light-and-shadows, a repose...your model looks like she stepped out to bask in the wonderful light and peace that nature suddenly dropped at her door; she peeked at us for a moment, and then returned to the repose. It has real beauty, Rod...and those flowers add lush reds, which, to me, are signs of love and beauty. (Antd the red washes over her too---ie, he red tones on her skin.) I hope you have more and more times of being bathed in repose and beauty...I wish you peace and rejuvenation---you deserve it in spades. Take your time, get better---from the comments here, everyone is with you, incl those who've been through a lot themselves. Thanks for the upload, and beautiful image, and great and deep healing to you, and to Jo.
Glamorous awesome composition and render.😊💝🤗
Good luck Rod, and take good care of you and Jo💝🥰🤗

Even year madness, eh? So sorry to hear about all your troubles. It really sucks sometimes to have to be exposed to the seamier side of life. I've had my share of scams too. And, coincidently, got suckered into on this very year as well. It involved repairs to my roof. Suffice to say, I'm $12,000 lighter in the wallet and will be paying that off for the next 15 years (assuming I will live that long, LOL) if I stick to their payment schedule. But I digress. I don't mean to add to your misery. Just to let you know you don't have the market cornered on being a victim. Love your work here, my friend! She is quite the buxom beauty! Thanks for sharing her with us! We can all use a fine lift like this whenever we can get it! Right? I love this beauty, even though, if you recall, my interests are perhaps in a different direction. LOL. But nuff said about that! Hope things begin to get better for you, my friend!
Beautiful lady and scene. Lovely pose and outfit, she is gorgeous. Nice lighting and colors.
Hope things work out for you soon and you Jo get to feeling better.
I wish you the best.
What happened to Jo is terrible; we hope everything heals well, because at our age it’s not so easy. Ute is still suffering from her double knee fracture (2013), and then there are all the doctor and hospital bills, we’d be groaning about that as well. Virtual hugs from Luxembourg from your friends, Ute & Rene
Hey there, Big Sis!
Yeah falls, breaks, strains, sprains, etc. are 10 times worse for us older folks. But she's a brave lady - just like you - and isn't about to give up. I'm dealing with stress, but pressing on.
So good to see you here, Ute! I'm sending a big hug for you both! Hang in there!
Beautiful work
Yowza!!! Very sexy!!!
Yup, a person can only take so much before things start to give. Sometimes I swear I've gone past depression into strange new territory. If you see strips of duct tape on the twisty trees, that was me. I also left two granola bars, a half a pack of cheap smokes, and a couple of shots of Aberfeldy scotch under a rock by the tree that looks like ... well ... you'll know it when you see it.
