It's difficult to plan for this and the best you can do is take a deep breath of air or not, since anything you do is futile at that moment in time. It kind of reminds me of scenes in so many movies where the actors just stand there knowing that there is not much you can possibly do as the end has finally come. Great job in setting up the scene! :)

First, my sincerest thanks for your beautiful comment on my piece for Steve's mother, I greatly appreciate it. It brings more light to what steve went through. Danke schön, lordi.

Your sensibilities as an artist are endlessly original, creative and fun. And complex! The big thing here is the tidal wave---kinda hard not to "see" it---but you have these three different people, where each seems to come from a different background...and they're all brought together in this desolate urban wilderness; and we have no idea who they are or if they even know each other, A wonderful ambiguity that lends itself to many stories. (If Johnny didn't find a tale for this, I probably could.) I love the unexplained in your work...it's always very suggestive.

And the scene, btw, is like a modern version of an old American Western abandoned town...except, in place of some bandits riding in, you have a tidal wave! The setting itself is wonderful. Terrific.

I found the story about Steve very moving, and the accompanying image was simply beautiful and deeply sensitive. I hope Steve finds all the strength in the world to get through this difficult time.

And thank you for your comment here. I like to create images that—while perhaps not always technically flawless—spark something in the viewer's mind. If a story forms in their imagination—whether leading up to the moment in the picture or following it—or if questions arise that inspire the viewer, then I am happy and satisfied. That is really all I ever want. It brings me great joy when an image sets the viewer's imagination in motion and ignites their own creativity.

That’s what I wanted to illustrate a bit with the three of them down there. Everyone reacts differently in intense situations, and often there is no truly viable solution. Yet, everyone tries to cope with it in their own way, based on their fundamental nature.

Sheeeesh!.... I'd say that big thing coming is already here!
