Description
I was astonished by this model. It's the ancient "Limousine prince" model that you can still get on the DAZ web site. It represents a 1959 Jaguar MK2, my favourite of all the cars Jaguar have ever made.
It is a very old model yet I have not had to alter the mesh or add much in the way of new textures for it. When it was released it must have been about the most detailed Poser car ever. I did make a needle for the speedometer so I could make it posable, and the same for the dashboard clock and the fuel gauge. Yes, I rigged them all. This was my first major Blender import and rigging project, and also involved switching the car from left hand drive to right hand drive before I started rigging it. I know Jaguar made both versions, but it's British and we drive on the left, so a classic model like this ought to be RHD. I learned a lot texturing and rigging this and I think the finished model is amazing, mostly due to the incredible modelling and attention to detail in it. This model is not for the webcomic, but it is the model I learned on, so all my conversions since have been easier because of it.
It never looked that great in Poser as back then Poser did not have the rendering capabilities it has now, so I really didn't expect it to turn out this well.
I may well make a LHD version as it wouldn't be a lot of work now this one is done.

The most beautiful car yet (yes, I am biased as I'm English). You say it is still available from Daz3D? What format is it stored in as I wouldn't mind getting this for import to Bryce? :-)
The car is a Poser model, so it is certainly possible to get it into Bryce. If you have Poser export it as a Wavefront .obj and if you don't just hunt through the Runtime folder of the product and find the .obj file in there. It will take a fair bit of setting up to get it looking its best as .obj import doesn't set up materials very well.

I only have the very old Poser 4 so this model probably would not load into that but I have imported a number of vehicles in .obj format and got them looking reasonably good.
Though first I've got to locate it in Daz3D site. :-)
The model would not look its best in Poser 4 but if you have Poser 4 running you COULD load this into Poser 4 and export it as .obj. That much will work. The car has no features that wouldn't work in Poser 4 except the materials, which were for Poser 5 and later.
Beautiful vintage Jaguar! Looks a lot like the car used by Inspector Morse in the TV series.
It is the same base, though this one has the racing bodywork with slightly different flared rear wheel wells. It was fun to convert it for use in Blender. Thanks for visiting.
