the sky opening-up is a big enough deal...but to reveal this? I'd head for the suburbs in seconds! Love the huge ship up there, in luminous glassy blues...and the little "spawns" flying out of it.

You used a 'wide angle' pov---very photographic---which makes the city bend-towards the ship. Well done, and a strong image of invasion. The blues really stand out. More fine work from you. (I think of an old Woody Allen standup routine about aliens landing in a huge city, to bring 200,000,000 pieces of laundry to be dry cleaned...they tell them to pick it up thursday...)

Thank you! I’m glad you noticed the wide-angle perspective — I wanted the city to feel as if it was almost being pulled towards the ship. And yes, those little “spawns” are definitely up to no good. 😄 As for the invasion… let’s just hope they’re not here for 200,000,000 pieces of laundry. I’m definitely not doing the ironing. :D
