This is an awesome scene but what I specially like is that lighthouse high up in that rock scape...that house next to it looks fantastic as well! I am wondering where these men could be headed, my guess is they heard a big white whale that he decided to call by the nick name of "Mobi Dick" was nearby, so off they went to catch a glimpse of it.
The captain being an artist went off to do his best to draw an image of what this big great whale looked like...him being a writer also, then decided to pen a story about this giant ferocious white whale by using a ghost writer that went by the name of Herman Melville to put the final touches to the story before it was published...the novel Mobi Dick" went on to become a best seller!
My apologies for my overactive twisted imagination...too much caffeine in the coffee this morning! lol laughing :)
