It is sad to see events like this but this is the so called order of of things now days even inner cities are dying, In England the huge Steel firms all gone here in Ireland the Linen mills closed almost over night

Tolle Serie. Und wieder geht ein Betrieb flöten, weil man Bier wohl auch in China brauen kann nehm ich an. Schade drum.

In dem Fall eher unternehmerische Fehlentscheidungen, Aussitzen wollen, mangelnde Flexibilität bei der Produktpalette, versprochene, notwendige Investionen wurden nicht getätigt, die Liste ist lang und die Probleme selbstverschuldet. Wenn der Chef sich wochenlang nicht im Betrieb zeigt, sondern es vorzieht, mit seiner Freundin Ausflüge zu machen, anstatt dort zu sein, wo er gebraucht würde, wenn alles sich selbst überlassen wird, dann ist es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis der große Paukenschlag kommt.

Klingt ja fast noch schlimmer wenn ein Betrieb durch Arroganz den Bach runter geht und etliche Leute dann ohne Job da stehen.

That is a very unfortunate turn of events of what happened to the brewery where you once used to work Courtray. It's a difficult business environment that the world is in at the moment...one wrong move and its can easily spell doom for some businesses! I feel bad for the people whose livelihoods have been effected by this shutdown through no fault of their own. :)

The difficulties had been going on for years. My company’s decline actually began eight or ten years ago. Despite all the warning signs, things were simply allowed to drift along, mostly without any intervention. Necessary investments were announced with great fanfare but rarely materialized. Working groups and committees were formed to identify existing problems and propose improvements and solutions, yet in the end, everything just carried on as before. The only beer brand that was still genuinely profitable—a non-alcoholic malt beer—was sold off late last year. From that point on, things went into a steep decline; we were no longer permitted to bottle the brand ourselves (despite the new owner’s apparent assurances), so we lost that revenue stream as well. Exports to Russia—which had initially continued despite the war between Russia and Ukraine—also fell by the wayside, as there was no longer any political will to support Putin. In the end, a potential investor backed out after gaining a full overview of the brewery’s finances. That left filing for insolvency as the only option—unfortunately. Fortunately, I’ve been retired since April 2024; otherwise, I’d be looking for a new job right now.
