The idea for the Andrews Sisters came to me some thirty odd years ago, in a Glasgow watering hole. During that period, I was writing scripts for a small press publication called A.D. Infinitum, and for my next story, I wanted a trio of semi-likeable villains. My first thoughts were for brothers called Phil, Pearce, and Chuck, McCann, and I started writing some notes on how I wanted them to interact with one another. An old Abbot and Costello movie was playing on the TV in the bar, and I hadn't been paying much attention, but suddenly, there they were, the Andrews Sisters, belting out the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and my brain went into overdrive. What if they were triplets? What if they were complete psychopaths? Most importantly, though, what if they were Scottish? I scripted a 6 issue story arc for them, but, ultimately, they never actually made it to print because nobody thought a female led adventure would sell enough copies to break even. Also, I didn't like how the artist drew them, and he didn't much care for how I described them, so we compromised and reverted to the McCann Brothers. More recently, I rediscovered the script whilst going through some old floppy disks, and I realised that technology was at a stage where I could attempt to do the artwork myself, which is exactly what I've done.
