~Batgirl Ponders~
If Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) knew what DC Comics was planning for her, what could she have done differently? The original 1967 Batgirl was smart and pretty, but activists pushed for a choice between one or the other - she couldn't be both at the same time. They said she couldn't be taken seriously looking this sexy. She hence ended up replaced with the Oracle - a smart older lady on a wheelchair. Sexiness removed, problem solved.
About a decade later, DC decided to bring her back to her original sexy glory, literally putting Barb back on her feet. A whole decade alienating the fans finally came to an end. That's why you will never see me depicting Barb as the Oracle. In my gallery, she can fight crime while being smart AND looking fabulous at the same time. Go Batgirl!

Batman initially tried to persuade Babs to give up Batgirl because it was too dangerous. Being physically smaller and weaker, her strength was in outsmarting the villains. However, activists pressured DC by saying she couldn't be taken seriously if she fought crime looking sexy, so they took it away from her, making her older and disabled on a wheelchair for a whole decade, until Gail Simone brought her back to her former glory again. Justice has been served! ^___^
Activists? ACTIVISTS?! Who are these "Activists" that have these dumb ideas about how a woman should be in comics? Nuts to them. And thank you for this render.
Those are the same activists who made Lara Croft look like a man in her own animated series, with a wide jaw, flat chest and broad shoulders. They also took her pistols away, turning her into the brawler she never was. Lara doesn't punch - she shoots! You have probably seen this "deconstruction" of popular characters everywhere, which led to massive financial losses throughout the last decade, where people responded by closing their wallets. Like they say: don't fix what is not broken. 😁
There's a saying by engineers: "Never change a running system!" (but those activists may not understand the meaning of it)
So, do I have to do anything bad to meet her?
