Description
In Irish mythology, Scáthach (or Sgàthach an Eilean Sgitheanach in Scottish), litterally " the shadowy one" was a Scottish warrior woman and teacher who trained the legendary Irish hero Cú Chulainn in the arts of combat. She is especially associated with the Isle of Skye, where Dún Scáith (the Fortress of Shadows) stands, traditionally considered her home... two versions, one in the Fortress of Shadows, one on the moors of Skye.
