Description
It has been quite some time since I posted anything to Renderosity, my last offering submitted back in 2021. The wind was completely knocked out of my sails after my forced retirement from a 43-year career teaching English as a Second Language due to COVID back in 2020. Following that jarring, unplanned transition, a pervasive sense of purposelessness descended upon my life, and I really lost my passion for many things that once provided spiritual and emotional nourishment. Finally, five years later, those passions have begun to awaken from their protracted slumber. Let’s hope it lasts!
Meager though this offering is, at least I haven’t completely lost all of those past skills. As always, this is all original modeling using Wings3d, texturing in UV Mapper, Bryce5 rendering, and some minimal post-work in Paint Shop Pro 8.0. The Mystery Man is a 2d Bryce object using a generic, online photo with the silhouette saved to the alpha channel.

great sense of the presence of light! I really love how you created a warm glow form the interior of the building and how you were so careful not to overdo the lighting on the figure- great restraint!
Thanks! Coming from you, these comments mean a lot. I agree with your response to my comments on Spinner 44. Like you, for me, it’s all about the light and the interplay with shadow. Oftentimes, less is more - leaves much to the imagination. Anyhow, I look forward to your next posting!
