I think Canvas for Win is still available and as a Web-App! Great Program! ... P.S.: What You lack for this Machine is a Name! May I suggest: "Super-Max"? ;)

I think Canvas back then was only available for Mac, but it wouldn't surprise me if they ported it to the pc later on.

I like chrysaor's suggested name for this machine - but I rather think it is a Sprongulator. The plunge grommet gives it away. :-D

This turned out great Max, it is nice that you kept the prints to so much of your past work...having seen your gallery and all the work you have done, I can only come up with one conclusion! You my friend are a true artist, your past art work is a testament to your talent!

I have not been here as often but will try to make up for it this weekend and visit many of the artist who I have missed. I thank you for visiting my YouTube channel and I took your advise and I am creating a sci-fi animation next and its almost finished. Well, Johnny ... perhaps once upon a time I was an 'artist' ... but now I'm mostly goofing-off and trying to have fun ;-)

And I also have missed many artists here --- mainly because they are missing or gone forever :-(

But I don't quite understand why some find it difficult to see a YouTube channel ... it's just a matter of clicking the channel link and -- Pooof! -- you're there!

It's sad that you have lost a part of what you did. Fortunately, you had the odea to keep some around. I'm using only Wings3D, but I know there are many who love to play with Blender. I think it would be cool to see your baby in 3D. And being an artist and having fun aren't mutually excluding, on the contrary ;)

I tried using Blender after my Softimage app stopped working, but it was way too different and awkward to learn, so I lost interest in tedious modeling and texturing.

And everything from my first 1987 Mac computer got lost -- except the paper prints!

Then if you wish one day to restart with something simple to modelize, Wings3d is really for you. I tried myself Blender, but when I was into, I was "what?" and wasn't able to understand what I was doing - knowing that before that I used a little the Hexagon from Daz.

You must've had background in technical drawing, as well as everything else you've done, because this shows a high degree of precision. I remember canvas, but vaguely (and the Mac II, yes---from the early 1600s, right???). Impressive work, and a creative vision of an old steam machine. Sweet contrasts in grays and whites, and lines and circles. A must-see full size. (When I started out, I did architectural drawing---for promotional purposes, not for actual building, god forbid...but it taught me the world. And when I saw some of the drawings of the best architects, my mouth watered.) This and the neighboring upload are very impressive.

In high school we all had a drafting class, and some kids were better at it than others ... just like in any other subject. Later on, in advanced math, I was a total dummy compared to several math geniuses ;-)

And yes, the Mac II is an old relic ... I believe Cleopatra used one .... but at that time it was the best!
