The KraKa (Kraft Karren, or in English, power cart) from special vehicle producer Faun, was introduced in the mid-1970s and was used by airborne units. It was something of a large quad bike before such vehicles existed. It was used to transport equipment and weapons and could reach speeds of up to 80 km/h (50 mph). In the 1990s, it was replaced by the Wiesel armoured vehicles. Here we see a model fitted with an FK-20 machine gun, which was used both for infantry support and as an anti-aircraft gun. Several could fit into a CH-53 helicopter. They could be folded up for transport.
