Description
This was going to be a contest entry for a Pin-Up contest, but in the end I decided against entering it, but still wanted to share it as it's a pretty nice portrait.
Doing portrait work, especially with young characters presents a very different kind of challenge, as you have to think much more carefully about posing, clothing, camera angles etc, it's quite a meticulous process to avoid selling entirely the wrong narrative or intent, but in truth that same headache is actually part of what I love about working with younger characters in scenes.
I took inspiration from the old magazine adverts from the 50's and 60's, I wanted something fairly simple but elegant that also tied in with Pippy's general photography obsessed nature but while also being slightly sublime in appearance too.

A beautiful moment you captured with Pippy. Her attention to her subjects and her smile are enchanting.
Thank you, she's quite a good muse :)
The inspiration paid off with this portrait. Beautifully captured moment. :-)
