SchΓΆnheit hat oft eine besondere Wirkung. Sie zieht an, beruhigt, fasziniert. Und manchmal verdeckt sie dabei mehr, als sie zeigt. Nicht aus Bosheit, sondern weil wir Menschen gern dem folgen, was glΓ€nzt, was verspricht, was leicht wirkt.
Im Streben nach mehr, nach Anerkennung, nach Erfolg, nach dem GefΓΌhl dazuzugehΓΆren, kann der Blick fΓΌr das Wesentliche leiser werden. FΓΌr das, was echt ist. FΓΌr das, was trΓ€gt, wenn Γ€uΓere Bilder verblassen. Man lΓ€sst sich nicht unbedingt bewusst tΓ€uschen, sondern eher lenken. Oft ganz unmerklich.
Schlangen stehen in diesem Zusammenhang nicht nur fΓΌr TΓ€uschung oder Manipulation. Sie sind auch ein uraltes Symbol fΓΌr Wachheit. FΓΌr das Wissen darum, dass nicht immer alles eindeutig ist. Ihr Blick ist klar, ruhig, aufmerksam. Er verurteilt nicht, aber er prΓΌft.
Gleichzeitig ist sie ein Lebewesen dieser Erde. Angepasst, sensibel, mit einer eigenen Logik des Γberlebens. Wer bereit ist, sie nicht nur als Symbol zu sehen, sondern als Wesen, entdeckt vielleicht etwas Entscheidendes: VerstΓ€ndnis wΓ€chst dort, wo Angst weicht. Und NΓ€he dort, wo man genauer hinsieht, statt auszuweichen oder wegzusehn.
Vielleicht geht es weniger darum, zu misstrauen.
Und mehr darum, bewusst wahrzunehmen, wem und was wir unsere NΓ€he und Empathie schenken.

Beauty often has a particular effect. It attracts, soothes, fascinates. And sometimes it conceals more than it reveals. Not out of malice, but because we humans tend to follow what shines, what promises something, what feels easy.
In the pursuit of more, recognition, success, the feeling of belonging, our sense for what truly matters can grow quieter. For what is real. For what remains when outward images begin to fade. We are not necessarily deceived on purpose; more often, we are gently guided. Almost without noticing.
In this context, snakes do not stand only for deception or manipulation. They are also an ancient symbol of awareness. Of the understanding that things are not always unambiguous. Their gaze is clear, calm, attentive. It does not judge, but it observes.
At the same time, the snake is a creature of this world. Adapted, sensitive, following its own logic of survival. Those who are willing to see it not only as a symbol, but as a living being, may discover something essential: understanding grows where fear recedes. And closeness emerges where we choose to look more carefully, instead of turning away.
Perhaps it is less about distrust.
And more about becoming aware of whom, and what, we choose to offer our closeness and empathy.

After seeing many real snakes myself, I think they're being unfairly judged as evil or bad.
Smile, yes, I agree with you. My son once had a snake-themed birthday party at our local zoo. With all the trimmings, including a complete snake skin. They are fascinating animals. But they're also suitable for many different visualizations. May I ask what your personal experiences with snakes are? Sounds interesting :-)
My personal experience with snakes was simply meeting them while hiking in a forest, or strolling in a park, and even finding one in my back yard :-)
I live in Australia and lost count of the number of Snakes I have scene over the years and only ever had a problem with one snake in that time.....Mis-understood but beautiful creatures :)
