Description
Idea based very loosely on a favorite film of my youth: The Battle of Fire (original title: La Guerre du feu) is a 1981 adventure film loosely based on the novel by J.-H. Rosny aîné, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud.
The film's core premise is that a group of Neanderthals lost their fire after being attacked by a neighboring clan. Three tribe members are sent to find and bring back a new fire; the tribe hasn't yet learned how to start fire themselves. Along the way, they encounter another tribe and rescue a member of an african tribe (played by Rae Dawn Chong) who is about to be eaten by their enemies. She then accompanies her rescuers and, upon their return, shows the Neanderthal tribe how to make fire on their own.
