Description
Hudson Joshua Creighton Allison, a member of the British Lumber Corporation traveled to England for a meeting, taking with him his family and children’s nursemaid Miss Alice Cleaver. From there, they made a side trip to Scotland. Then they were to travel back, originally on another ship, but then decided to go by the Titanic. As the ship started to sink, Miss Cleaver and young Hudson Trevor boarded a lifeboat. However, the Allisons and daughter Helen didn’t know where their son was and searched the ship until the time to abandon ship had passed. Only Alive Cleaver and 11 month old Hudson Trevor survived.
The Fortune family in 1912, except the two eldest children, went on vacation through Europe and into Egypt. In Cairo, one of the daughters Alice as told by a fortune teller that, “You are in danger every time you travel on the sea, for I see adrift in an open boat. You will lose everything but your life.” Shortly after she and her family boarded the Titanic to return to Canada. The father Mark Fortune showed up on deck wearing the lucky buffalo coat when the ship struck the iceberg. However it was not enough to save him; he and his son died, though all the women of the Fortune family managed to make it out via the lifeboats.
