Description

Hello dear friends, I was following this creature in the hope of being able to photograph it, and fortunately it finally took a rest on a Hydrangea, which has now changed color very nicely in the fall. it's a male of this species of dragonfly: Aeshna affinis, the southern migrant hawker or blue-eyed hawker, is a dragonfly found in southern Europe and Asia. It is in the family Aeshnidae and is very similar in appearance to A. mixta. It's name in Dutch: Een mannelijke zuidelijke glazenmaker (Aeshna cyanea) Thank you very much for your lovely comments on my previous upload, it's very much appreciated. #photographic, #insect, #dragonfly, #Hydrangea, #gardenshot p.s. This photo was also published in our newspaper, "de Limburger".

Oh, that is a beauty! I've loved dragonflies since I was a kid, and anytime I see one it makes me smile - Nature's little helicopters. What a gorgeous capture - it's like he knew you were going to take a photo, and landed on the Hydrangea on purpose! LOL

Thank you, Rod, he may well have waited for me after challenging me so much. Yes, I'm also a great admirer of Dragonflies, they have so many beautiful details. I also think they are very strong, because every now and then they fly into our window and then you really hear a kind of 'thump', but they just fly on. :)
