Description

I’ve been working on my contest entry for quite some time now. When it finally clicked and my brain switched into creation mode, I thought — why not make several images, like a little story? I’ve been wanting to do that for a while. Since storytelling isn’t exactly my strongest skill, it might take me a bit more time. So for now, you’ll only see the images. I’ll post them one by one. Because the scenes are very packed and my PC tends to whimper quietly while I’m building them, it’ll take a while. In the meantime, I’ll probably dig out a few other renders I haven’t shared yet. At the end, there’ll be the full story series. I even thought about turning it into a new series called “Storytelling” — I think that name fits quite well. So here’s image one! Creating it took forever. I deleted quite a few polygons from the house to make it look exactly the way I wanted it to. It was honestly the only house that came close to what I had in mind. In the contest thread, I mentioned that I spent eight hours on the scene — but it was probably even longer. On weekdays, I had around two hours per day, more on weekends, and I spent almost a full week until the scene finally looked the way it did in my head. There was a lot of back and forth with characters, props, and of course all the grouping tool work — creating material zones, deleting polygons, all that counts too. Basically, I first finished the environment, then created each character separately and imported them from individual Poser files into the finished outdoor scene, placing everyone where they belonged. The upcoming images will probably be a bit faster to finish, since the characters are already done and just need to be imported into the new scenes. And yes — I’m sure everyone here knows those endless test renders all too well. 3Dream’s 2ndFace from the Freebies section really helped me to create my main character. Basically, it’s made up of two people — one child wearing the costume, and another one that’s invisible except for the head. I used 2ndFace to slightly shrink the costume’s head so the second child’s head would fit perfectly in its place. Really practical tool! :D https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/98153/2nd-face-all-free-bases-until-2024 #Poser13 #P13 #Halloween #Superfly #Season #V4 #Luke #K4 #No_Postwork
