Description
Hello dear friends,
Somehow I wanted to share one of my unusual things that happened to me.
For my part, courage is needed, but nobody here really knows me, so I don't have to be afraid, right?
In any case, thank you for reading, with love in my heart.
The Wall of Stone
(An experience that truly happened to me)
As a child, maybe 6 years old, my mother asked me to go to a neighbor’s house, just a few doors down.
To say something, I suppose.
I walked the path to their front door.
Just before I reached the bell, I suddenly felt an indescribable, massive, wild resistance standing right in front of me.
It was a huge wall of stone—pressing against me, stopping me, forcing me to a halt in a threatening way.
I froze.
I came to a complete stop, like a film that suddenly stops rolling—
my feet stopped moving.
I didn’t understand what was happening.
Fear completely overwhelmed me.
It pierced right through me, and I couldn’t grasp it.
I, a kind of, realized I would die, if I would remain standing in front of that wall.
Then I made a choice.
I chose to go through it.
It was as if I broke through a sound barrier.
I stepped right through that hard, wall—my opponent, that fear.
I pushed past all my limits, with a deep, self-forcing courage—
a kind of “surpassing myself,” pushing myself beyond what I thought I could bear.
I broke through the dividing wall that had held me back—
that had stopped me from even daring to breathe further.
And I breathed.
I acted as if nothing had happened.
I continued on, stepped out of that scene, that moment as in a film.
I simply walked on and did what I had been told to do.
I rang the bell and acted (again) as if nothing had happened.
And I smiled at those people—
smiled sweetly, shyly, happily, like always.
I never spoke about it.
Because it had been only the wall and me.
Nothing to prove.

.
This is 1 of various unusual situations that really happened,
but that I never shared with someone.

P.S.
I made a quick 'scribble drawing' for illustration.
Nothing special, but maybe you can see that I go through that wall.

Good for you, for pushing through the wall!
Thank you so much Joe, for reading it!
Could be the start for a novel
Thank you so much illkirch, indeed 'could be'. ;-)
There are many ways to deal with such a strange and frightening experience. You chose to walk right through it -- and succeeded ! Thank you for sharing. Nice drawing.
Thank you so much for your words, shadelix, I appreciate them very much.
This is so wonderfully encouraging and beautiful! I love it. We all have walls to step through at times - I know I do, and it's a challenge at times. But pressing on through is always it's own reward; and sometimes an even bigger one on the other side.
I love your drawing!
Thank you so much, Rod. You're so right, symbolically you can come across walls on your path, one sometimes more than the other; perhaps to get stronger, but we don't let ourselves be discouraged, right? Thanks again for your compliment, my friend!
