People are usually buried after their death, in quite different ways. In Western Europe, it is common to bury the deceased in a coffin, although there are other, more modern methods that are receiving increasingly positive feedback: burials at sea, interment (after cremation) in a burial grove, or pressing the ashes into diamonds that are left to a bereaved family. Sometimes, however, there is no way to bury a person because the bodies simply cannot be found, for example, after shipwrecks or because someone has fallen into a crevasse or never returned from a hike and cannot be found. These bodies then go the way of all earthly things, occasionally serving as hiding places, living spaces, or strongholds against predators. It also saves many species from having to build their own homes or search for natural caves, for example. Thus, after death, humans sometimes serve animals, after having only used them during their lifetime. It's somehow fair.
