Description
Licué, with her full (non-)christian Name: Chálchí-uht-licué, means "She with the Skirt of Jade", the Mistress of sweet Waters, neé to Rain-God Tláloc.
A Charmer and Seducer she was, all the negative Attributes belong to her: Flooding, Drowning, severe Weathers, but she was also the Goddess that protects the Births, according to the Aztecs.
Women in the Culture of Aztecs were restricted to the Home. Though Aztecs had a remarkable Education-System, Women were not allowed learning to read or write. Their Education aime at being submissive Housewifes, that cared for Health and Cleanliness of the Tribes. Some made a Career as Healers and especially natal Helpers, which was an highly developed Art.
