Description
Silvarius glanced at the ship readings, all indicators were right where he expected them to be at. He smiled to himself, even at 1 am in the morning, he was right where he had always wanted to be. It wasn't a cruiser or any sort of powerful military vessel; just an old freighter, though a rather unique one that matched its strange crew and Captain. Still, the sensation sent a thrill through him. He was holding the vessels power at his fingertips, and on this shift, under his command.
He did not want to command, or even first officer. He was the helmsman, and that had always been where he wanted to be. The one who applied the control, not welded it.
He leaned back in his chair with a satisfied sigh. Across the bridge, a blue light began to blink with a soft beeping bell.
He glanced over curiously. A communique directed to them was rare, unless it was another contract offer.
Tia flipped her blonde hair back as she accessed her comms station with delicate, precise movements.
"Sil," She swiveled her chair partially around to face his position. "This incoming message is directed to you personally."
He froze. "What?"
"Origins is addressed as coming from New Haven." She continued.
"Now what?" He shook his head. "Relay it over."
A few quick buttons and the message appeared on the data screen of the helm station. He accessed the content with the tape of a button.
He read the contents with a frown, and then faintly smiled. He knew who it came from.
"Perfect timing." He grinned. "I think our Captain would approve of this." He nodded slowly and type a response and then sent it back to the communications station. "Send that."
"You going to alert the Captain?" Tia asked curiously, a faint trace of a sly smile playing across her lips.
"The last time we did that in the middle of the night, he threatened to pull someone's arms off." Sil shook his head with a chuckle. "No, thank you. We will be moving close to New Haven on our way. I can inform him in the morning shift change."
"Chicken." Tia giggled as she turned back to her station.
"I've seen him fight." Sil responded with a grin. "I'll pass."
