Description
Hi and another Fan Art from Space 1999 another awesome show from that era about Moonbase Alpha and the life of those enjoying the peace so far from Earth and a show I loved watching as a kid :)
I had the moon base model for a few years now, it was a model created by Ron L. Long in 2018. I thought it was cool, a freebie, downloaded and promptly forgot about it...lol (original a 3ds/lwo model) I believe I converted them in Blender to use here.
I thought this would be a simple prop to use but that's where it all went wrong, textures wouldn't stick or show and after a solid 8 hrs this was the best I could come up with so I need to learn some more about something it would seem...lol
The Eagle Space Craft were freebies from CGTrader or maybe Vanishing Point..not sure now but I did do the lights and some of the textures on the Eagles to make them look a little better than original. I love doing things with assets not meant for DAZ...lol
Thanks as always for your time here and hope your having a great day/night, peace :)

Yes I was an fan, also loved Fireball XL5, four feather falls, super car, UFO, young ones now day don't know what they missed
So true with them missing out....and I found a Blender model of XL5 so will have a play with that soon enough :)
Thanks for popping in for a peek :)
Ah ... that was a groundbreaking TV show for that time ... awesome visuals.
I always used Bryce for my final renders by importing OBJ models which I made or fixed, and textured in another 3D app. I recall DS not being very easy to texture with, and modeling just about impossible.
Yeah Daz doesn't do modelling, you can edit to some degree but I will find a way to make Daz comply...lol
cool view of earth from the moon, really super space/sci fi image.
Thank you very much :)
Nice work. I remember that show. It was all right, but I never liked it as much as I did Star Trek.
There is room in my heart to love them both..lol
Thank you :)
Seen some episodes. So far I remember a good reconstitution, maybe even better than the original.
Thank you for your kind words :)
Sweet, another show I watched as a kid from the 70's. You nailed it here bravo!
Thank you kindly, wish there were more assets but hey it is 2025 so will remain a wish I think :)
c'était une très belle série que j'aimais beaucoup.
J'ai beaucoup aimé cette série à l'époque, j'en garde encore de bons souvenirs et j'ai adoré le vaisseau spatial. Merci d'avoir jeté un coup d'œil :)
There's a show worth rebooting, only if they don't screw it up.
I like the idea of a reboot but Hollywood can't even get cartoons to live action at the moment and the script is already written...lol
Thank you :)
Impressive artwork. Great realism. Beautiful images composition 👍🙋♂️
Thank you and for the visit :)
Another from the great mind of Gerry Anderson..., along with Thiunderbirds, lets not forget Captain Scarlet and Stingray! Loved those as a kid (actually, still do!). Wonderful tribute.
Yes I have learned a lot about Gerry Anderson this last few days and thanks to Staticon I have been watching a lot of behind the scenes and Doco's on youtube. Interesting and great nostalgia :)
Thank you :)
Excellent
Thank you and for the visit :)
I think it turned out well, sorry to hear about the misadventure with the textures but it paid off in the end. Looks lovely!
All part of the joys of creating 3d renders :)
Thank you and for the visit :)
I remember this show. Low budget Canadian attempt to cash in on the success of StarTrek, or something like that. All done with miniature models. Fifty years later, your skills and DazStudio, gives the TV produced original a run for its money in the Visuals department. Very good render images.
Thank you very much and although not authentic it captures the era in this render....but I also loved Star Trek...didn't really matter how good or bad, it was SciFi and I was hooked...lol
loved that show! sad that it ended so abruptly.. excellent work Steff!
Yes it did and I never saw or found the last several episodes but it was so much fun while it lasted :)
Thank you and for the visit :)
Hahaha! I did almost the exact render (of the second image) a few years ago (I never posted it)! "Great minds..." and all that!😃🤓
And of course... Well done!
LOL...Seriously.....like minds :)
Sorry I beat you to the post but would be worth seeing yours, would be great :)
Thank you and for the visit :)
Superb space scene!
Thank you and for the visit :)
Nicely done! I enjoyed this show as well - don't think I ever missed an episode. Too bad we never managed to get to this point in RL.
Yes I was and still am disappointed that we never achieved all the things they promised us in the 70's regarding life and SciFi.
Thank you and for the visit :)
Stunning and amazing as always !
Thank you and for the visit :)
Hi, superclear scifi render :) Love it...
Greets Stormrider75
Just a straight Daz render, no post work :)
Thank you and for the visit :)
This new graphic has turned out simply great!
Thank you and for the visit :)
An excellent and great looking set of render you have created from one of your favorite shows...it turned out nice! :-)
So many fav shows and so little time...lol
Thank you for dropping by :)
Excellent set of renders of a great television show.
So, this was before the breakaway. I used to watch this show and if memory serves me right the moon breaks away from the orbit of earth. Another British sci-fi show which was pretty good in its time. Maybe you could render an image with the nuclear explosion that starts their journey into the Unkown.
Hi and thanks for dropping by and I believe you are right about the moon breaking orbit and I like your idea so I will see what I can do in the near future...could be a fun one to create :)
Cool image !!! Better than the original TV footage.
Thank you so much and was inspired by the tv show for this. Loved those textures on your Eagle BTW :)
