Description
17 hours after the Stellarion engaged its Level-3 faster-than-light drive, its five-member crew emerged at the edge of the Ross 128 star system.
After performing all systems checks, mapping the star system and sharing a good meal, they began a detailed survey of all planets and moons.
For seven days their scans revealed nothing of great interest. On the eighth day, however, one of their robotic orbital telescopes detected an anomaly on a desolate, rocky world. A lander was sent down to investigate.
What they found may just have eclipsed all prior discoveries -- a relic of some advanced alien origin.

This is gorgeous and right up my alley....Love it, the terrain and the ship. Fave for me for sure :)
I imagined you would prefer a lush, green landscape full of flowers and fluffy moss with butterflies;-)
Way awesome
Very nice. I like the alien ship and landscape. interesting story too. - Bob
Thank you, Bob!
I'd be looking up the salvage laws about now =)
Laws? LOL -- they laugh at laws! -- and after they finish laughing they blast it out of existence, or use it as kindling for a campfire!
Nice seeing you again, Sydney:-)
lol...some days I enjoy those Brady Bunch things but also really enjoy Scifi desolation, forgotten and harsh realities where any wrong step can lead to ones destruction :)
Well...... I don't think Space-X landed that thing there.... Now, do we see if there's a way to get inside it? And what will we find?
Awesome work on this scene, my friend!
Actually, Rod, I don't know ... don't have a sequel for this image. This may be the last of the FTL history series.
This new graphic has turned out simply great! Love this one a lot! 😊👍
Definitively a bigger ship than the Stellarion too. But how to go faster than the challengers, if not by doing a smaller one to leave before anyone? ;) Now to see what they'll find into
love this one
Oh? It seems like you have a natural attraction to danger, and danger can be dangerous,
I just arrived late to this image once again Max and I can't believe what you just revealed to Rod on a comment above. This FTL history series is amazing and you can not end it like that my friend. You can not leave us and the story hanging on an unsolved ending like that.
Now I am left to wonder what the lander that was sent down to investigate found on the planet. I want to know that what it discovered was not a communication transmitter from a previous space travelers expedition. My biggest fear is finding out that they left a message warning everyone to stay away from this dangerous planet and not suffer their fate by landing here. :-)
Funny you should bring this up, because during my last nap a sequel to this just popped into my head. But it will take some work to visualize it and make it look at least half-decent.
Originally, if you recall, this mini-series was meant to be much smaller and simpler than my Flynt series.
