this photo was taken in Aug of 2004 in Cheyenne canyon rd in my city. the metal creations were made by a designed who committed suicide a few ers before i took this, the yard is/was full of multiple designs. most have been bought by the city for use in the downtown area and other displays.. i have several other captures of his yard art. a couple of years ago before he took his life someone i knew was visiting from another state who had a degree in psychology i think and did mention that the designed was a suicidal person. three years later the designer did so.

Nice sculptures. Being an artist and not having your work appreciated is very hard on one's self-image. Many artists have taken their lives, even famous ones.

An amazing sculpture, and it looks like a very rich grounds. I see other sculptures there too---he liked long spindly lines.
Amazing story too: There have always been a small number of very talented artists who took their lives. One poet---a great one too---jumped off a bridge into a dry river bed. For some people, creativity can be a huge burden.
Sweet color in this shot, the deep blues and greens...and the sculptures blend in to the place well. And you'd never know, from your photo, that this was in the middle of a huge city. ALways good to see your photos, steve.
