~TR3 Lara Croft~
A return to the classic badass Lara from Tomb Raider III (1998), a little adapted to my personal liking. 🙂
**Fun fact: Tomb Raider III has introduced elements like the grappling hook and a more nonlinear level design compared to its predecessors.
3D pose and camera set in Poser, imported with my OpenPose plugin, rendered in Stable Diffusion, postwork in PaintShop.

Wow it's been a long time coming, but here you are presenting the one and only original Lara Croft from Tomb Raider . I have been a fan of her's ever since I first played the video game on a PC back in the day my friend...congrats on such a fine image! :-)
Thank you! What people liked about the original Lara from Eidos was that she was impetuous and took whatever she wanted - a tomb raider. Crystal Dynamics declared the next Lara will no longer be a tomb raider because that is offensive, so I am preserving her here so people can remember what she once was.
Whoa! one of my fav characters!
It's time they make a new one that's even better than the last 3.
Thank you! Crystal Dynamics has been working on the next game, but they assure us that Lara is no longer a tomb raider because that is offensive, so I am not even sure if they will have to change the game name. The new Lara will be the opposite of what we know, always asking for permission before taking things. Not even sure if they will allow her to carry her iconic dual pistols, since that might also be offensive to them. That's why I am preserving the badass original here so people might remember in the future what Lara once was.
Without the badass attitude, why play the game? Leave perfection alone.
That's what I think, but that won't stop Crystal Dynamics from turning Lara into a girl scout. They have proudly announced the upcoming Lara will no longer be a tomb raider, since that offends their sensibilities. Make me wonder if they will take her pistols away, and what the game would be called, since she is no longer a tomb raider. I have ALL of the Tomb Raider games here on my shelf, but if everything about Lara is offensive to them, they shouldn't be making this game. There is nothing to be fixed here.
Lara is offensive to them? Those people should see the offensive stuff their excessive taxes go to in real life --- they have no idea what 'offensive' really means.
Based on statements from the studio, they find it offensive that Lara raids tombs and takes whatever she wants. According to them, this is politically incorrect, so they will "fix" Lara in the next game, where she won't raid tombs anymore. Instead, she will ask for permission and then return things to the owners. I suspect they won't even allow her to carry guns because those offend their sensibilities. Can you see where this is leading? They are deconstructing Lara, stripping her of everything she was - because [they claim] this will please "modern audiences". Sounds familiar? Happens a lot these days.
Oh I know exactly what you mean. I guess a lot of games will need to get 'fixed' then -- like when a bandit or a monster attacks, you will only be allowed to tickle it and offer it a pink flower.
I hope they will one day find this "modern audience", since so much content is being created exclusively for it, but it is nowhere to be found, no matter how much money they pour into it. One thing is for sure - the next game will not be for us, since we see nothing wrong with Lara as she was originally meant to be. No matter what they do to her, I will keep posting her as shown here. I see nothing that needs fixing. 🙂
They need to tackle much bigger problems first -- like homelessness, crime and working families struggling to afford decent food and housing while more than half our taxes get stolen by gangster politicians.
There are far more offensive things I have to put up with every day, so when someone tells me they're offended I generally just laugh.
If there is a bright side to this, by alienating the fanbase, they will pay dearly for it in lost sales when the game is released. Happened many times in recent years. They have to respect not only the fanbase, but also the IP they were supposed to protect.
This brings back memories of late nights and surviving to get to the next level, superb :)
Thank you! The grappling hook was great fun in TR3. ^___^
I played Tomb Raider I and II by the time and I liked it very much. If they want to make a "girl scout" as you mentioned ... hmm ... that could be interesting, but it's a totally different person and story. So the new setting might get its audience, but it might not be the original fanbase anymore. You know that saying: "Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere". Nice picture.
Thank you! I totally agree with your assessment - if Crystal Dynamics wanted a completely different character, why pick Lara Croft, right? Create a whole new game on its own merit, instead of deconstructing Lara and alienating her entire fanbase.
