Description
An hour's drive later Dave made a turn on a side-road for several miles, then we walked 5 minutes, and there it was -- the clock -- and I had to admit I was somewhat impressed.
"That's pretty cool, who made it?" I asked.
"No one knows. Some hiker just found it last week," said Dave.
"So where to next?"
"We'll stop at my shop."
"We are going to see your garage? How exciting, I can't wait," I said sarcastically, "gonna show me your shiny new hammer?"
He smiled, "And some shiny new nails too."
I rolled my eyes again.

When I can't come up with something new anymore it will be time for me to close shop, pack my bags and permanently retire;-)

What keeps that clock running is still a mystery -- perhaps geothermals? Solar energy?

Puts me in mind of Mr. Gataeu's clock from F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1922 short story -The Curious Case of Benjamin Button-
I guess every human generation needs one eventually.
