Description
It didn’t take much for it to all start falling to pieces. Now it’s just a matter of time.

I created a similar artwork to this back in late 2021 when it became crystal clear that my dad was suffering from dementia. Dad is far worse now and I needed to express these feelings again. In the original, I think the cards represented the future. Now, I think they are representative of a nervous breakdown I'm having thanks to all that is going on (mostly with Dad or due to his dementia affecting everyone else).
Here is what I wrote for the original:
Needless to say, I’m falling to pieces and so is everything else. The idea for this artwork came to me easily. I haven’t made an emotional piece like this in quite a while; haven’t been in this sort of emotional state for it in a while. I’m trying to rebuild myself, once again, but it will take time and a lot of work. Hopefully my next artwork, which I’ll begin work on momentarily, will be of a less depressive nature but this needed to be expressed.

Great scene.
Thanks!
Excellent scene... so sorry to hear about your troubles...hope this helps release some of the weight on you.
Thank you. It does help to let things out once in a while. Art is my best working therapy.
An excellent job with the cards, and the emotion in this artwork, Lizzie. It really communicates the feeling, and sense of time running out with the hourglass. It's a tough thing to deal with - for everyone close.
My dad went through the same thing, but the onset was fairly quick. At the end, he didn't know who anyone was, even me or his last sister. My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.
Thank you, Rod. Things just seem to fall apart and get worse by the day. Action will need to be taken soon. It has to.
Would make a great spy story if Dad like Sherlock Holmes or J. F. Nash was a case of 'More Than Meets the Eyes.' kind of way.
A very emotive piece. And the rain on the window pane is a very nice touch. Adding to the somber atmosphere. Well done.
