He continued, "M99 sent me." After a long conversation Flynt learned a few things: 1. Polaris never revealed a single detail about her work, only vague generalities. 2. Those robots that escaped could have vanished, but chose not to. His visit opened the remote possibility that an all-out war between humans and robots can be avoided. 3. The robots have no desire to destroy any intelligent life, unless they pose a threat to them. 4. A time will come when all our combined resources will be needed to repel a new threat that can doom the entire galaxy.
