Description
Hi and Sunday arvo here right now, rain coming and finally finished this piece. Will be dropping by your galleries tomorrow as off to a BBQ very soon.
Took several days to re-texture this free Blender model from Open3DLab and had to do all light sources, added the environment, fog and of course the cars, bike, people, aliens and headlights, 4 hour render and adjusted brightness in Photoshop but the scene was a single render straight out of Daz.
Had a lot of fun and will probably have some more renders in the future with this scene as it has a fully fitted out shop inside and this asset is located just on the border of Raccoon City.
So hope you like and I thought the image would tell a story in its own right, I also thought I could make it look better but there were some problems getting it from Blender to Daz so I bit the bullet and just went with this as I was starting to get a little frustrated with having to rebuild geometries and new textures but that's the sort of fun I like....lol...not, I wasn't happy about the banding in the scenes final render so obviously I have a lot more to learn...as always :)
Thanks to all of you that drop by and leave a comment or suggestion, I really appreciate it.
Take care, peace :)

This image deserves an instant favorite and a ten star platinum star effort from me! The amount of time it took you to set up this scene was well worth the effort my friend! Upon enlarging this image, the cop car was easy to see hidden in the darkness, ready to pounce at the first sign of trouble. These alien visitors are going to have to get past the crowd at the gas station if their motive is to quench their thirst with an ice cold drink without being seen. lol :-)
I have no words for this praise you have bestowed....Thank you :)
This render is every bit as brilliant as it is expert. Excellent.
Thank you ever so much for your super kind words :)
spooky, great atmosphere and lighting. Makes me think back to the late 70s, early 80s when you did not have cell phones, Walmart and store at every exit of the interstate, and they had signs warning you when the next gas station was. Roads were dark and you heard stories...excellent
I remember those days when dark was dark and your world only existed within the cones of the headlights and thank you for your so kind words :)
This incredibly nice creation reminds me of my days, in the Wild West...but it was not this spooky !
Thank you Gaius and dark and alone is creepy at any time in any era :)
Very nice lighting and foggy atmosphere! I was so focused on all the details in the centre I almost missed the funky guy on the side! Really fun image. I wonder what he's there to buy ;)
lol.....I like to sneak in a few surprises where I can and thank you for dropping by :)
excellent mood and atmo.
Thank you and for dropping by :)
Marvelous work on the atmosphere
Thank you and for dropping by :)
Hi, wow I don't know where to start :) The scene reminds me a lot of films where every picture was created exactly according to the rules of photography (rules of third, golden ratio etc.). Deep respect for your effort and 4 hours of rendering would really be too much for me :). It also depends very much on the hardware and lighting. I spent years trying to get the lighting to be optimal (i.e. fast rendering times with the appropriate hardware, of course). Iray can be very bitchy ^^. New geometry and textures wow respect bow. I spent a while using Poser to adapt the textures to Superfly. This isn't fun in the long run. But you can work very comfortably with nodes. DAZ has clearly looked into this. Epic work and effort :)
Greets Stormrider75
Its all a learning curve and if I am stuck in front of my PC I cannot get into to much trouble right ??? lol
I was a Poser nut for a long time and until I updated my PC last year I was still wondering if Daz was for me and now I think the answer is yes as I learn not only more about Daz but also the limits of my PC which I am only now starting to push.
Manually applying textures and creating them is not fun at all until you see the final result so hang in there :)
A lot of my recent renders are 4 to 5 hours min to render and frustrating cause I want to do something else but until I get a spare PC it render wait and TV...lol
Not sure what Daz has done to be honest as I never really liked it long ago but creating the depth and doing a scene exactly how I see it is cool. Thanks for dropping by :)
Sweet mood and lighting. I wonder what weapon we have to stop these invaders? Nice job here.
Coffee....lol Thanks for dropping by :)
Spectacular scene with great atmosphere and incredible attention to details! With an Aston-Martin parked at the pumps, I wonder if 007 is on the job.
Outstanding work!
lol......now that may be a good movie....007 Vs Aliens, there would be no limits in a production like that :)
Thank you and for dropping by :)
Very nicely done.
Thank you and for dropping by :)
Great scene here! The lighting and haze is just like a hot summer night in strip mall/gas station/frontage road land, the creeping crawlies only coming into the viewer's awareness afterwards.....great atmosphere and mood of the intersection betwixt the boringly normal and the forebodingly horrific!
Thank you and really happy you saw the whole scene with the norm and the danger :)
Stunning Convenience Store, great light and superb rendering 👍🙋♂️
Thank you very much and for dropping by :)
The atmosphere here is so lifelike - and excellent lighting! I've not seen a phone booth in years, but it looks right at home. Outstanding work!
If that was here in KC, those aliens would probably get mugged...
Mugged ... !!!! where's the department to protect the Zombie rights....lol
Thanks for dropping by Rod :)
Outstanding image, super fog effects and cool gas station. Great job on replicating Resident Evil 2 game at the beginning with Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Looks like you have the motorcycle Claire rode in on, and the cop car there, and that could be Claire entering the store or is she still in the phonebooth? In the game she stops at this gas station to make a phone call before entering the store. All the pieces are there. Can hardly wait to see the next installment of this cool image. Cool zombie waiting outside in the foreground. Fantastic!
I have all the movies, including the animated ones and most of the main games 2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Of course the remakes 2,3,4
Hi and appreciate your enthusiasm here :)
The freebie model I used is a Blender model and is actually the Gas station from RE2 even thought I had to build some parts but you nailed it and have started playing with other versions of this scene as well as texturing some other freebie RE assets from Open3Dlab.
I love the franchise but never got around to playing the games and watch the movies, remakes, etc often :)
This was worth every minute of your work, Steff. It is awesome.
Thank you and after all those minutes I have to agree with you that the result was worth the effort for sure :)
Une composition exceptionnelle !!
Thank you very much :)
It's as always a wonderfully done new scene!
Thank you :)
That's fantastic. Love the atmosphere.
I think the atmo is the real selling aspect of this render and thanks for dropping by :)
A masterpiece.
Is that an alien on the side, or am I hallucinating?
You not hallucinating...lol There are actually 2 in the scene and I put them there for a little fun :)
Thanks for dropping by :)
And your story reminds me of the old days when I had to constantly fix bad geometries and crummy textures of all sorts of models that were sloppily made. It was actually easier to rebuild a model from scratch!
I believe your words after this experience and after I get more experience I will probably be doing the same as you stated :)
