Description
My entry in the 2024 Renderosity Writer's Contest. Illustration drawn by hand and coloured in Photoshop.

Such colourful creatures these snakes can be,
it is a terrible shame that they cannot see,
as they twist and turn in the light,
reflecting back a shine so bright,
lighting up the night as if it was it were day,
keeping all the nighttime scares at bay.
It is the most obvious for all near and far,
just how beautiful these snakes really are.

Inspiration: The number of times I see something really beautiful and I want to tell them just how beautiful they are. Every day I appreciate all the beauty around me, from every plant, to every animal, to even a patterned stone. I wanted to write something that gave acknowledged such beauty and how even if they don’t know it, they are so very beautiful.
