Manikin is kind of the odd one out on the team. He's the only one who isn't a human, or originally was a human, as he's an alien from another world. He's one of the immortal elves from the planet Vegtan, and the first male of their kind that I have shown, the previous two of his people being the villainess, Elf Queen of the Evil Society of Villains, and her half-elf/half human daughter, Obsidian Elf. And, since they are also both evil, he is the first of their kind to be showcased that is a hero as well. He's also not romantically attached to anyone, at least not anyone on the team anyway, since team leaders, Mandate and Manifold are a couple, and Mandrake and Manipulation are another. Simple math shows that that is four out of a team of five consisting of three males and two females. So, the little green guy truly is on his own. That's fine though, because he's not really attracted to humans anyway, and much rather prefers his own kind. It's all good though, because he's not with the team to hook up with anyone, and they were all couples before he ever joined them. He's not one to have ever wanted to settle down with anyone either, since his life before meeting Mandate, and joining his team was one of a traveling entertainer who never really stayed in one place for very long. So, any relationships he might have had in the past probably never really lasted very long to begin with. Beyond any romantic attachments though, his being on this team is probably the longest of any kind of relationship that he's had with anyone to be honest, and it's like he's finally found a place that he can call home, and a "family" that he can truly belong to with people that don't just love him for his ability to entertain him, and he can use his skills to make a real difference now. And, since he was a wanderer, his actual place of origin from his home world is a mystery as well. Being a Vegtanian elf, he already had some ability with magic, and their natural longevity, but he never really used those talents beyond just doing simple tricks for shows to make a living from place to place. Mandate persuaded him to join his group, and that allowed him to begin using those talents for something more, and their fated missing which gave him the powers of the "Manpower Chip," have expanded his magical abilities exponentially. and with the help of his newfound friends, no rather his newfound family, he'll always have a trick or two up his sleeves to pull one over on anyone who would seek to do them or any others wrong. As stated in his bio above, he gets his codename from his power to use wooden manilkins like living puppets to do his bidding, as well as the fact that his short and wiry stature gives him something in common with them.
