Description

Hello, all my friends, associates, collaborators, and everyone. For those of you wondering what’s going on with my posting, and specifically my TNA story… Right now, I have taken a little break due to a number of things. I’ve lately been in a bit of a creative slump. It’s really difficult to stay motivated when there is so much NONSENSE going on in the galleries. The number of folks spamming the galleries with the daily limit of repetitive crap (sorry, I meant “art”) seems to be increasing on an exponential basis. There used to be 2 – 4 people doing this. Now it’s 10 – 12. They tell us that images made only with generative AI are not allowed. But it’s OK if the AI is “part” of the workflow. Apparently “part of the workflow” can be a quick, 20-second “edit” in Photoshop, and you’re good to go. So you can generate 30 – 40 images in the hour it takes me to set up a scene in Poser, or composite a couple images together in Photoshop. Yay for you. I could go on and on, but why? I’ve already learned that it’s NOT going to change, and that comes from the top. I’m tired of beating that deceased Equus caballus. Anyway, I’ve taken a short break to try and get my massive libraries of assets to a point where I can actually FIND stuff when I need it. I had a couple items I wanted to include in the next TNA page (yes, it will be done soon), and it took a few hours to go through my stuff to find it. You’ve heard of those “hoarder” houses (we had one right next door)? Well, I’m a “digital hoarder,” apparently. So, I’ve been going through multiple hard drives and DVDs getting things somewhat organized. Wish me luck. In the meantime, here’s Alexana inviting you to go along for the ride. No worries… She’s not going to do anything fancy in that Horizon. This scene was a photo taken years ago when we lived in our first house. No driveway or garage, so we had to park on the street – which is why we drove things like this Horizon. It gets smashed by some brainless idiot, we just collect the insurance and go buy something else relatively cheap. Alexana was created in good ol’ Poser. Edits made in Photoshop, so I’m good. 😉 Kind of a sucky day here in Kansas City… If you’ve not heard yet (it’s all over the news), we had a mass shooting today, on what was supposed to be a day of celebration, happiness, love, and camaraderie, and fun. 1 killed and up to 20 or so injured. 2 or 3 suspects in custody. Jo and I didn’t go, we just watched on TV. I can still run like a dog, but Jo has arthritis in both knees, so she can’t move very quickly anymore. Thanks for stopping by, and for any comments you wish to leave. I deeply appreciate them all. Rod's Lair Official Girls From T.N.A. Website Rod's Blog Facebook Twitter Girls From T.N.A. I've not messed with AI much, aside from the AI in the newest version of Photoshop. It's cool for some things, but I'll only use it as PART of the creative process. Yes, that was our car a long time ago. We still have the 2014 Caravan - best set of wheels we've ever owned.

Hi, I stumbled upon you via another gallery comment and realized how little I actually know about this site. Since around 2015 and only a few years ago I decided to show my renders. My goal is to keep it as it is as possible. Ultimately, even the characters are created by others, but there are limits. I use e.g. Not even Photoshop or something similar for post-processing, because in my opinion that distorts the image. I think I get the lighting, characters and scenes pretty well. Storytelling is not my strength, so I sometimes spend hours brooding over how I let my ideas mature into a picture. I primarily use DAZ Studio again, even though I often curse the handling, I somehow get the best renders there. Poser was nice but the figures aren't for me because they look pretty good and are just old (damn, Genesis 3 would be enough for me but nothing in Poser 11 and even less so in 12). The camera there is also pure horror for me :) Iclone/CC3 is much friendlier, but I don't feel like spending hours editing the figures like in Poser until I get a usable render. I don't use AI and Ko because it goes against my maxim. In addition, the characters often look unnatural (especially the eyes). That was actually more than I actually wanted to write :) @eekdok That could be an old Golf from Volkswagen.

I really like the picture itself, especially how the figure fits into the picture almost naturally.

Oh, finding stuff when you're a digital hoarder is hard — guess how I know? Back in the 1990s I had a PowerMac 7200/90 and on my current system there is still a folder called "Files from the 7200". Um, yeah, really...

My current Mac Pro has four SSDs in it, two 500Gb and two 2Tb drives, plus four old-fashioned hard drives that are 4TB each, and every drive has hundreds of thousands of files on it. At one time I found it hard to find stuff but I did what you're currently doing, I organised it all. It took a while but now I can find almost any file I need in less than a minute from amongst those millions of files. I have a very systematic way of naming folders and files, and as long as I stick to that system all is well.

Good luck with your efforts, I mentioned mine because I thought it might help — organising stuff does work! And I am looking forward to the TNA post as always!

SHOTGUN !!!!! Excellent scene work!!!! I can appreciate your mode of transportation, back then. In the 70's, I once had a car that doubled in its value, everytime I filled up the gas tank.

Very well created. She really fits in.

It's been ages since I last saw this kind of car. Nice and compact. (Toyota was it?)

Thanks so much! Had fun putting this together. The auto was a Plymouth Horizon - I don't remember the car year. I was working as a field service rep at the time, so that poor little car got a LOT of miles put on it!

LOL - No, but the background was "generated" by my camera (it used that funny plastic stuff called "film") way back when..

Great work and narrative....maybe that is what I should be doing in my downtime.....sorting out what assets work, what don't and what I really have on my drives and how to find it :)

The interface between render and phot is sweamless... excellent work! And you have prompted me to address the gigabytes of unused assets in my runtime... when i can find a free moment! 😉
