Would you believe 8 days?
This is my first render showing starfield and Mars looming in the background with the USS Independence and Lander USS Cumberland attached. This render was started on January 5th around 4 PM and finished on January 13th at 5:30 PM. The computer that created this picture is a P-III 933 MHz with 768 Megs of ram and an ATI All in Wonder 8500 DV with 64 Megs of ram. The image also shows the Mars Lander USS Cumberland without it heatshield attached to its landing gear. This was going to be another (test image) but after taking so long to render I decided to add the starfield and complete the picture. Oddly enough the ship is still not finished as you will see in up coming post. This is a continuing work in progress as I have already redesign the Lander which I will be posting images of in the next few days. The model at present weighs in around 75 megs and is still growing. This was created in Bryce5 from scratch, all concepts and designs by me. Thanks again for viewing and commenting on my work.

David, I'm really without words. The model is really amazing, but this I've already said... in this picture, the ligthing is perfect and the planet looks really impressive, in scale and detail. If possible, you're getting better with any post.
Wow! This is fantastic! All those hours you put into this really shows. Absolutely great!
8 days, wow
My ministation 800x600 rendered in about 30 minutes, but then it did not have as much lights as your ship does.
I still use Bryce 4, i guess that B4 models are not that heavy compared to B5.
Good work as usual, but that is like kicking a open door when you are involved
your patience is a virtue, amazing work as always
Awesome job as usual, BB. If we'd put as much effort into getting to Mars as you put in your work, we'd be there and back already.
bambam's the king, but USS Independence, hum, that's my ship ! and she is rather different. I'm gonna change the name then, no more USS as I am now convinced that the future MArs exploration will be carry out for private interests and by private companies.
Stunned again! You definatly know how to get the best out of Bryce! Excellent work!!!
That model is only 75 MB? Great work, again...! This is an awesome project, very ambitious! I hope you're keeping backup copies of this ship, wouldn't want to redo it if I were you!
Wow! This is a breathtaking image. David, as usual you have out done yourself. And I thought my 24 hour renders took forever!
Impressive!
Stunning modeling work! And, furthermore, you have the sense of colors harmonies, really excellent!
jesus you are good
