Description
Roy just got situated in Joel's booth when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. It was
sweet old Rosie, the waitress and owner of the little diner. She was pulling the late
night shift this week since her grand niece had come down with the flu and couldn't
make it in for a few days.
'What can I get you fellers tonight?' she asked sweetly.
'I'll have one of your famous Bismarck rolls and a cup of coffee, no cream! And get this
young guy whatever he wants! It's on me tonight!' said Joel.
Roy hadn't had much to eat that day having been concentrating on his driving in a strange
part of the country so he was hungry. 'I'll have steak and eggs with hash browns if you
have them! And a nice strong cup of coffee with cream sounds delicious!' he exclaimed.
'Coming right up!' responded the delighted Rosie! This night might just be worth her
time after all.
