Description
The phages were modelled in Bryce and given self made materials. They stand on a fading disk for the shadows and underneath a second one for the reflection. Background and ambient light by the "BokehPine" HDRI (unpublished) and the key light by the sun. The models are not completely correct, only similar.

Cool modeling! I see their "package" in the background. Typically, they get a grip then there is a structure on the bottom with pins for penetration to inject the package. Awesome render.
