Description

Pixie and Lena chat while Lena attempts to establish a bank account in River Heights Molly's art notes: The 4 images were set up and rendered in Poser 13.0.339, tweaked a bit in Poser and then Photoshop and finally mounted as a comic book page using Comic Life 3.5.21. This is an experiment in story-telling that returns to the graphic novel format I have used for other stories here. I also included the images from each individual panel if you care to peruse them more closely than the graphic novel page format allows. I am interested in your thinking regarding effectiveness and desirability of this format. Content in the images includes a variety of meshes: Ali's Bela 1.2 for Lena and Erogenesis3D's Project Evolution for Pixie, Michael 3, Stephanie Petite, Loretta LoRez, Lorenza Lo Rez, Jessi and Pauline. The scenes make use of TruForm's City and Bank. One thing that crosses my mind is that this format might be a problem for someone unaccustomed to English and who uses an online translator. If that's the case, I can certainly add the dialogue to this description; just let me know! =) #VladlenaB

Thank you! I kind of gave up on comic book page story-telling because it's an additional layer of work for me but if people really like it I may use it more often. =)

Excellent work, The anticipation is building. I like the software you used, is it easy to work with? I might take a look at this comic style.

Thank you, my dear. The story plods along but I'm enjoying telling it. Using this method of exposition is a bit more work but if people seem to like it, I may keep using it a bit more often.

As for Comic Life, it's not got a very steep learning curve. The page templates are pretty intuitive and you just drag and drop your pictures into the boxes on the templates. There's a bit of an art to making the speech balloons but it's really not hard. Someone with your experience and interest should be able to ascend the learning curve very quickly. It's by Plasq software and (as I recall) it's very reasonable priced. If you do acquire it and have any questions I'm happy to help. =)

Thank you, my dear. I'll take this as a vote for me to use this style of story-telling more often! ;-)

What a nice work!! Each comic is so richly detailed!! the layout is very nice and the long conversation is very easy to follow thanks to the clarity of the speech bubble connection. As always, thank you for the detailed explanation of your work. And special thanks for concern for those who don't understand English like me! But don't worry: transcribing sentences into the translator is a small job that is very pleasant (and useful) to do! See you at the next work, Marco.

Thank you for your very kind and encouraging comment, my dear! I have to use a translating tool when I exchange comments with some wonderful people here as I am limited to English with little hope of learning another language at my age. ;-) I try very hard to be thoughtful and open to others and am delighted that pleases you. =)

This is good stuff. Running the story in comic form is a lot of work but packs a wallop in both pace and space conservation. Images work, dialogue is crisp and informative without soap opera style repetition or info dumps. Keep it up, girl!

Thanks for the encouragement, JD. It's very helpful feedback and I'm delighted that you find it an effective way to tell the story (such as it is >.<). I'm probably going to keep up this style from time to time both because it works and I like developing my techniques of layout, lettering and such. =)

Thank you, my dear Rad! =) Comic page layout is challenging but probably something I should do more despite the work involved as it can be more effective than single images and rambling text. ;-)

Dear Molly, I am very thrilled by this Lena Story and how she will get on with the crypto currency and the sesurity phone call. I hope for her everything is going right!

Well as you may have guessed, I'm all for this format (you'd hope so after three volumes of Skytown!). I'm not familiar with comic life (I use good old powerpoint for my layouts) but its seems to have a good range of bubbles and callouts . The thing that took me longest to get to grips with was learning to treat boxes and bubbles in this context as visual elements and learning how all the geometric components work together to balance the layout while also struggling with the space constraints ....a constant learning process!

Thanks, Joe. I appreciate the validation and encouragement. I've studied on this and am still learning (oh, so much to learn... XD ). I might recommend some books by Will Eisner who is one of the greats; I think one I've gone to a lot is "Comics and Sequential Art"; two others by him that I have consulted are "Graphic Storytelling and Visual Narrative" and "Expressive Anatomy for Comics and Narrative". I've got tons of other references but Eisner's stuff is the very best. =)
