The small town where I spent part of my childhood had floods like this and the houses were built on stilts (not sure the real name) Thats something sure I don't miss! As always a great photo Richard:)
as a child, we did not have many floods, but a block away however the water was 8 feet or more deep. we had to deal with Water Moccasins . we had a small dog that would see the snake and not let it leave. I would go out to kill it. while I was in college, my mother seen one inside of her home in a lower kitchen cabinet. a neighbor came down and shot it
That's a lot of water.
Wow that's a crazy amount of flooding. I hope everyone is okay. Makes for a stunning image though :)
Scary place to live !
That's a lot of flooding. Hopefully, people aren't hurt from it.
Well, in my experience the Trinity floods quite often, and some of those trees in that area are well over 60-80 feet tall. Little river here near me looks like the Mississippi in flood times and nothing more than a creek most times.
the water can rise very quickly and so many people think that they can drive through it, at least until the water kills the engine
Fantastic view, great capture like alwaes
Amazing capture that is sure heck of a lot of water.
that is a lot of water. a good shot, though, very dramatic.
