Description
Gregor unlocked the door to the renovated farm house and handed Lena the key. "Here is your key. It was mine to keep as a spare for Brooke and Pixie but now it is yours." He led her through the common room. "Kitchen is straight ahead. Two bathrooms and Brooke's bedroom to the right. Stairs to Pixie's bedroom and your room to the left." He climbed stairs at one end of the common room and opened a door at the top. "Here is spare bedroom Pixie says will be yours. Her room is to your right and the door on the left is closet and storage area."
Lena paused at the top of the stairs to take it all in. "It's actually nicer than the apartment I shared in St. Petersburg, big brother." She paused, distress and exhaustion plain in her posture and on her face. "I can't believe that 10 hours ago I arrived in River Heights. So much has happened. Meeting your friends, seeing the ghost of our little brother...."
"You don't know it was a ghost!" Gregor interrupted. "Crisis apparitions sometimes emerge from the living. We must hope he lives."
"Whatever," Lena replied. "Then job interview, now new place to live. Maybe we have been followed and observed. I am so, so tired."
"Would you like me to stay and help you unpack?" the big man offered.
"No, dear brother," she replied dragging her luggage the last way to the bed room. "Just give me time to rest and maybe shower before my new flat mates show up. You have done so much already there is no repaying it."
Throughout all this, ghostly Grace followed always keeping out of Lena's line of sight, confident that she remained invisible to Gregor. Although the two spoke in Russian which Grace did not understand she could hear Lena's exhaustion and Gregor's concern. "When she is rested a bit, I'll approach her," the ghost thought.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029 using the Superfly Cycles 2 rendering engine. Compositing the ghost was accomplished by merging two images in Photoshop and tweaking the result. Grace is based on La Femme, Gregor on L'Homme and Vladlena on Bela 1.2. The upstairs interior of the farmhouse that is the dorm for the female grad students working with Professor Van Humbeek is content from DAZ. If you would like more detail on the content, just ask! Amazing scene, I would say a highlight here is the way you use gestures and poses to indicate action. It can be clearly seen from the way Gregor holds the handle, leaning under the wall beam, while holding the suitcase slightly aloft. Great attention to detail. The ghost effect sure looks amazing too, very cool!

The ghost effect is achieved in Photoshop. There are ways to do such things in Poser but I'm too lazy to modify the materials that much. XD

Thank you, my dear! I expect that Gregor is a bit less happy about the low ceiling and especially the big beam making him duck. I expect he hit his head on it before this picture was rendered. XD

Like the posing - the more subtle, the more realistic.
Bet Lena's apartment in St. Petersburg was a bit more industrial with a lot more 'patina'.
Patina? Heh. Yeah. A more... "lived in" look. XD I'm glad you're still hanging in with this story. It drives me nuts to think that all the pictures in it I've put out cover less than 12 hours of story time... it's been months of real time since I started the story. >.<

Thanks, Anne! I have a lot of feeling for poor Lena, too. Things promise to be very complicated for her with agents of the USA watching her as she runs from her homeland where she is judged an enemy of the state. To make things even more complicated she has attracted the interest and affection of a ghost and also a human (Pixie). I don't think I could make things too much more complicated in my story here.... >.<

Not at all, dear Molly. To be surraouded by a ghost causes complication anyway, but it also could be of great advantage for Lena.
