1952 GRUMMAN HU-16 according to the reg. My dad worked for Grumman on Long Island, NY for 35 years. He also saw work on the Apollo Lunar Module. Mainly F-14s, and refitting of the F-111 (General Dynamics) with new electronics. He called them "flying garbage trucks." I'm sure that this aircraft received a few electronic upgrades since 1952. A nice capture.

Looks like a cargo and equipment plane. (I know nothing about planes, however.) Or to carry soldiers to a location. It's a small beast, and I like the shadow it casts, and those long balancing wings. Props too! Well composed shot, Richard. A clunky beauty of a plane. It was probably loud and bouncy inside...(Bill---of Tara and Bill---and Rod would know about this for sure.)

A great shot of this beautiful Grumman, Richard! I love aircraft, and I need to spend a few hours around a place like this - it's been too long. I'll wait 'till it's warmer, though... It's somewhere around 8 here - when the wind isn't blowing..
