Description
The hours passed as Miss Pannakin and Sonja Steelsinger prepared for a confrontation with the buyer of the clankseed used to facilitate Lilja Darkstar's abduction. As the evening wears on the scene is Saunders' Saloon. We find an assortment of scoundrels, miscreants and degenerates; outlaws and the outcast of society. At the bar, a pair of lithe, dangerous looking women drink and converse.
"She was still breathing when we turned her over," Kimiko stated. "That fattened the bounty enough that some serious refitting on "Dark Dragon" is possible, Fumiko."
"Some heavier armament, perhaps?" Fumiko replied. "It is very fine to have gold, partner."
"Look who just came through the door," Kimiko said.
"Ahh. Hmmm." Fumiko nodded. "Interesting, no?"
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered with Poser 12.0.1029 and tweaked a bit in Photoshop. The air pirates lounging at the bar are based on Dawn (left) and V4 (right). The Barfly and beefy footbad are based on M4. The Barkeep is based on James. The other bar patrons are lo rez FBX figures imported into Poser. The bar itself is Saunders Steampunk Saloon from DAZ.
N.B. This story has been running awhile and is getting complicated. Let me remind you it can be found in the "Lilja Darkstar" folder in my gallery and that the pictures are numbered to make it easier to view them in order. We have arrived at the 41st such picture in this series. XD

Great background characters that add to the scene without making it a Star Wars bar.. with those matching outfits Pannikin and Sonja are begging for trouble from any angle, including some joker with a Mollyverse version of a Panzerfaust :)
Thanks, JD. I had to go look up "Panzerfaust". XD I kept the air pirates in pretty much the same matching outfits we met them in for story continuity (although I dropped the boot controllers for their flight equipment in favor of some stylish and impractical heeled boots). Populating a scene like this really strains the resources of my renderbox but it's fun. I had in mind a card game at one of the tables but stopped before the renderbox melted down. ;-)

The meowing cat is a great touch! Either she is begging for him to share or warning him to not touch her tail, LOL!
I think the cat is trying to decide about the big lug interacting with her. XD

Interesting, yes! A fine assortment of character in this iconic setting! Most excellent lighting really sets off the mood as well! A marvelous work from all angles, Molly! Bravo!

Thanks, Rod. Last we saw the pirates they had a lot more gear on including leather helmets and masks over the lower half of their faces. They are very cute and hopefully dangerous looking without their faces covered. XD

Great environment and mood. I like the querulous cat! The pirate on the right of the picture looks like she's quite enough grog and is sliding inexorably to the floor!
Thanks, Joe. Heh. Yeah, the bar turned out to be a bit low for leaning against and I was so attached to the idea of leaning I tried to make it work. She does look a bit... relaxed. XD

Love the lighting, esp. how it falls on the bartender and the guy in the 30's menswear working outfit (or whatever that's called -- I think I have it too). I esp. like it when lighting shows a lot of contrasts, with bright and dark areas. I love this tavern set and have only used it once. You use it well here! Love the characters too, esp. the lady who's about to slide to the floor ;-)
Heh. Yeah, I was a bit too married to the idea of having the pirates leaning against the bar and it does put them (one more than the other) in jeopardy of winding up on the floor. XD I'm glad you like the lighting, it was driving me nuts. It's another example of good enough and it's enemy: perfection. I need to opt for good enough more often and I'd finish more picture. ;-P
