After Francis Montague Holl, Faces in the fire. Joe Jarrah made me want to take an interest in English genre painting. I thus discovered the paintings of a painter named Francis Montague Holl. What struck me in this exacerbated sentimentality was often the absence of the loved one, whether sailor, soldier, or even in prison, which by contrast gave a strong presence to the female characters. For this mini series, I chose to transpose this social misery into another, more contemporary one, the one that binds us to our screens. My characters lack a part of themselves in the lack of relationship established by the interface of the screens. Thank you for the view and your comments

Autre forme de misère sociale, en effet!

Au moins, elle a un chaton pour la faire reprendre pied dans la réalité :)

Your series are all so well done! You seem to have a gift in translating the subject of old paintings into the presence! Love it!

Though, she is not lonely! There is that kitten, which sometimes is of greater value snd faithfulness than mankind (my personal experience 😉 )!

Thank you for the compliment, having this gift requires daily work that has structured my life for a long time. I completely understand, this passion for cats, moreover in the original painting, it seems the only treasure in the life of this young poor child.

You've again paralleled the original painting in so many ways with a modern analog. As someone who love the warmth of a fire against the chill it is interesting to me that you took the physical comfort for a fire not scene in the original picture and translated to a computer/TV screen in your modern analogy. I love the presence of the kitten in both... I happen to be a cat owner and find they can be a great relief from loneliness, too. Thanks you for sharing, I always enjoy viewing.
