Description
From the forests of West Africa to the icy waters on the Arctic....
Arnaqquassaaq, or Sassuma Arnaa ("Mother of the Deep"), more commonly known as Sedna, has many and differing legends among the peoples of the north, but in all she dwells in the deep sea and commands the animals therein. She a somewhat vengeful protector, and so worshipped with offerings by hunters who rely on her goodwill for their survival.
The original (right) was an experiment in fitting a v4 mermaid tail to g8...just about works, but almost impossible to pose without distorting wildly. The orca is a great little freebie static prop from mostdigitalcreations. I've now updated it using g8.1 and different tail that fits much more seamlessly; has different feel but possivly works better.

I think I'll now think twice before I'll dive...very beautiful (though a bit scary were I'm concerned) image and great job on the V4/G8 mix-and-match.

I can see where you have struggled with the tail, nice mythological themed image!

Both images are good (I find the volumetrics of underwater imaging very challenging in Poser) but I like the one on the left a bit better. The skin of the mermaid seems a bit more natural to me, the tail (which drove you crazy, apparently) is more interesting and I feel like the facial features and expression are clearer. Again, both are well done and thank you for sharing!

Heh. No, Joe. My bad as I more closely read your description. I mixed up the pictures. I stand by my comment which matches your opinion... the one on the left is better! >.<
